As Promised - Parking!

The hits just keep coming, with the next exciting installment of wedding related details. As promised, we're providing some suggestions of how to navigate your terraplane around our rural wedding destination.

Getting to Cloverdale from Vancouver is as simple as getting on the #1 Highway and heading east till Exit 53 - the exit is marked for Cloverdale and puts you onto 176th St. Follow it South (5-10 mins.) and it will take you straight to Cloverdale, BUT!

Right before the 'downtown' neighbourhood, 176th St. doglegs right, so you will have to TURN LEFT @ 58th Ave., and then take YOUR FIRST RIGHT back onto 176th. Don't worry, there will be a 'B&A' sign somewhere around there to help you out.
This should put you in sight of the Clova Cinema. There is ample street parking on the blocks around the theater, and to the west, on 176A St. behind the Clova, is a large pay parking lot. You might also look around the demolished mall a block east and see if there's any space there.

After the ceremony, head a few blocks further south, onto Route 10 (alias 56th St.) You'll follow Route 10 for 10 to 15 minutes, as it becomes the Langley By-Pass, CROSS 200th St. and keep following it as it bears LEFT and becomes Glover Road. Once you PASS 216th St., turn RIGHT at the T-INTERSECTION, and take your FIRST LEFT onto 72nd Ave. If you've made it that far, you'll find Springbrooke no problem.

Or you could just follow the signs. They look like this:

You've Reached the Offices of Blair & Ariel's Wedding Blog

If you're reading this, chances are you've got our latest email, so thanks for following up! You can find the info you're looking for on the Itinerary page on the sidebar, and check out the Wedding MC page there as well.

Also, a heads up about the weather on the day . . . While we'd like to think that having a June wedding would equal sunshine, this is Vancouver so be warned! While we have both in and outdoor plans for the dinner and reception, at least a few of the day's events will take place outside, so please make sure to bring something warm and comfy to cover up with if worst comes to worst.

Introducing the Master of Ceremonies

Well, hello again to the 2 (or three?) faithful followers of this exciting blog. Admittedly, the updates haven't been come fast or furiously, but we finally have something new to announce - the recent election/appointment/emotional blackmail of Skye Lee as our Wedding MC!

This is such a big deal that we're actually giving Skye a whole page to himself (see Sidebar), which is chock full of fun facts, personal stats and, most importantly, contact info! That's because Mr. Lee has a special request for all of our guests, and he's cutting out the middle man (namely us), so please read his page and drop him a line. He's in too deep to back out now!

April Fools . . .

So we're sure that everyone who read the last post took note of the date, and didn't take it seriously . . . though the number of people who read this blog is probably even lower than those who've RSVPed! Of course, we're not actually saying that anyone who hasn't RSVPed is now uninvited, but please let us know as soon as possible. The 'official' deadline has been extended until the end of the month, as there were some invites that got sent out late, but if you've got one, get back to us!

In other news, a disclaimer regarding our 'Kids & Tastes' post: the word 'venison' was chosen strictly for alliterative purposes, and does not actually reflect the type of dead animal flesh we will be serving for dinner. In all likelihood, your venison will probably be fish. Or pork.

RSVP Deadline

Well, today's the day of our RSVP deadline, and that means that you're either in, or you're out! Though we're surprised at how few people actually got back to us, its a bit of a relief since we wanted a smaller wedding anyway! So, for the 20 or so people who made the list, we look forward to seeing you in June, and as for the rest of you, too bad! We're sure you'll see us sometime later in our married life and can bask in our wedded bliss then! Ta-ta for now . . .

Kids & Tastes

Hey Everyone! Now that the RSVPs have actually started to come in (!), we thought we'd better start posting some updates. We're really hoping that as more info and plans about the day come together, everyone can stay in the loop by checking this here interweb site. And speaking of those RSVPs, we want to clarify a few things with all our esteemed guests:

KIDS!

First of all, even if we didn't list 'em by name on your invites, please know that all kids and babies in the gang are welcome here. And, for the evening festivities, we're planning to follow Skye and Alicia's lead and have a babysitter or two hang out, so all the kids can party together without parents being on-the-ball the whole time. Sound good?

TASTES!

Also, a detail that didn't fit into the invite: As you're all RSVPing, could you mention who and how many of you are gonna want to eat vegetarian, vegan, or venison for dinner? I mean, we're pretty sure we know, but it'll help ensure the final head count - or mouth count. Oh yeah, and maybe even more important than that, please list all food allergies and intolerance, so that no one has to die or send out for pizza or anything. Thanks!

Stay tuned for exciting info on Driving! Parking! Car pooling! See you soon!
